BobbleheadStreams support

Your account

Your account is where your scenes, your CastTime hours and your hub key live. BobbleHub itself holds none of that — it asks your account for all of it, which is why linking the two is the first thing you do.

Making one#

Go to the website and choose Sign up. You'll be asked for an email address and a password.

There are two doors, and they lead to the same place:

Host you're the one running the game
Player you've been invited to somebody else's

Pick whichever describes you today. It changes what you see first and nothing else — a player account can host later, and a host account can join somebody else's game without doing anything special.

Players don't need an account at all. An invite link works without one. See Joining a show for what an account gets a player who wants one.

Verifying your email#

After you sign up we send you a link. Click it.

Until you do, you can't buy anything. Checkout stops and says so rather than taking you to a payment page that would fail. Everything else works — you can look around, and you can be invited to games.

If the email hasn't arrived, check spam first, then go to Account and send it again. You can also change the address there if you typed it wrong.

Signing in#

Sign in on the website, with the email and password you signed up with.

Signing in with Discord instead#

You can link a Discord account under Account → Discord and use it to sign in.

Linking does something else as well, and it's the reason most hosts do it: it's how a voice in your Discord call gets matched to a bobblehead on screen. Without it, the show can't tell which character is talking. See Adding the bobble bot.

You can link Discord to an account you already have — you don't have to choose at sign-up.

Two-factor#

Under Account → Two-factor (2FA) you can add an authenticator code to your sign-in. Scan the square with Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or anything similar, then enter the six digits to confirm.

Save the backup codes. You get them once, they're shown once, and each one works once. They're what gets you in when your phone isn't available.

If you turn 2FA off and on again, your old backup codes stop working. So do the old ones if you regenerate them deliberately.

Your display name#

Account → Profile has a name your hosts see in their game. Set it and it stays the same between shows.

Leave it blank and your host sees whatever you type into the join box that evening, which is fine — it just means it can be different every time.

Your hub key#

Under Hub Keys. This is the string you paste into BobbleHub to link the machine to your account, and it's covered in full on Linking BobbleHub to your account.

Two things worth knowing here rather than there:

Revoking is immediate. Any BobbleHub still using that key stops being able to reach your account, which is exactly what you want if a key has gone somewhere it shouldn't.

Devices and sessions#

Account → Devices & sessions lists everywhere you're currently signed in, with when each was last active. You can sign out any of them from here.

Troubleshooting#

I never got the verification email#

Check spam. Then go to Account and send it again — the button's next to your email address. If the address itself is wrong, change it there and the new one gets the link.

Checkout says I need to verify my email#

That's the same thing. Verify, then try again. Nothing was charged and nothing was started.

I've lost my authenticator and my backup codes#

Contact us — this one can't be self-served, by design. See Getting help.

I signed up with Discord and now I want a password#

Set one under Account. Discord stays linked; you'll just have two ways in instead of one.

"That Discord account is already linked to another Bobblehead account"#

A Discord account can only be attached to one Bobblehead account. Unlink it from the other one first, or sign in as that account instead.
