Scenes

A scene pack is the world your game happens in — the set, the lighting, the places your characters can stand. Packs come from the store, download once, and live on your machine afterwards.

Finding a scene#

Open the Store tab in BobbleHub. It lists what you own and anything included in your plan.

You can filter by type, by genre, by publisher, and sort by newest. If the filters leave you with nothing, the Store says so and tells you how many of the listed packs you own, rather than showing you an empty shelf with no explanation.

Buying happens on the website, not in the app. Packs you don't own yet show a Find in store action, which opens the store page in your browser. Nothing in BobbleHub takes a payment.

Downloading#

Press Download on a pack you own.

BobbleHub fetches it, checks the bytes are the ones it asked for, and installs it. You'll see it move through downloading and verifying before it lands as installed.

Scenes are large. Do this before your players arrive, not while six people are waiting.

What the Store is telling you#

What you see What it means
In your plan You can download it because your plan includes it — you didn't buy it separately
Installed It's on this machine and ready to load
Update required A newer version has been published, and the copy on your machine can no longer be opened. You already own it — there's nothing to buy

That last one is worth understanding, because it looks alarming and isn't. When a pack is republished, older downloads stop working. Press Download again and you're current. No purchase, no support ticket.

Loading a scene#

On the Scenes tab, this is two presses in order:

1. Load scene. The set loads. On a large pack this takes twenty to forty seconds — that's normal, and it's the single longest wait in the whole app. Your audience sees a loading card while it happens, and you can replace that card with your own artwork in Setup.

2. Load cast. Your characters are placed into the scene, in the spots the scene author laid out for them.

They're separate on purpose: the set has to exist before anybody can stand in it.

Changing scenes mid-show#

Load a different scene the same way. The loading card goes up, the new set comes in, and you load your cast again on the other side.

Your players stay connected through a scene change — they're in your room, not in the scene. Their faces stay captured too.

Where scenes live on your machine#

BobbleHub keeps them in its own folder and manages them for you. There's nothing to unzip, no folder to point anything at, and no file to keep track of.

Troubleshooting#

A pack says "Update required"#

A newer version was published. Press Download to get it. You already own it — this is never a purchase.

The download failed partway#

Press Download again. BobbleHub verifies what it fetched, so a partial or corrupted download is caught rather than installed, and re-downloading is always safe.

The scene loaded but nobody is in it#

Press Load cast. Loading a scene and casting into it are two separate presses.

The scene takes a very long time to load#

Twenty to forty seconds is normal for a large pack. If it's minutes rather than seconds, the show engine may have stopped — check the connection pills at the top of the window.

My Store is empty#

That's usually the hub key rather than the Store: see Linking BobbleHub to your account.
