Plans and prices

Everything here is about CastTime — the hours your room is open. What a room actually costs you while it runs, and what makes it run down faster, is on CastTime.

🚩 REVIEW — confirm every number on this page against live Stripe before publishing. The figures below are the catalogue's own, and they are correct in the app; nobody should be reading a price here that differs from the one on the payment page.

Free, to start#

A new account is on Solo — Free Forever. It costs nothing and it doesn't expire.

You can look around, be invited to other people's games, and set everything up. To open a room of your own you need hours, and hours come from either of the two things below.

The subscription#

CastTime $9.99 a month, or $99.99 a year

That gets you:

Eighty hours is a weekly four-hour session with a great deal of room to spare.

Monthly hours don't roll over. Each month's allowance runs out at the end of that month, whether or not you used it. This is the one thing about the plan worth reading twice, because it's the difference between "I have hours" and "I have hours this month".

If you want hours that keep, that's what the blocks below are for.

Top-up hours#

Buy these once. They last 12 months from the day you buy them, and they don't need a subscription.

Block Price Rate
40 hours $5.00 8 hours per dollar
80 hours $10.00 8 hours per dollar
1,000 hours $100.00 10 hours per dollar

The 1,000 is the only one carrying a real discount, which is why it's the only one that says so. The 40 and the 80 are the same rate as each other — the 40 exists so you can find out what your table looks like with everyone in it without committing to more.

Which hours get used first#

Your monthly hours are always used first, so top-up hours stay in reserve until you need them.

That ordering is deliberate. Your allowance expires at the end of the month either way, so spending it first is what stops it going to waste. Your top-ups sit untouched behind it and keep their full 12 months.

BobbleHub warns you when a block of top-up hours is within two weeks of expiring, so a reserve you never got round to using doesn't quietly disappear.

Buying a scene on its own#

You don't have to subscribe to get a scene. Any pack in the Store can be bought outright, and once bought it's yours — it doesn't stop working if you cancel a subscription later.

Prices are on each pack's page in the Store. See Buying scenes and hours.

Changing or cancelling#

Account → Billing → Manage billing opens your billing page, where you can change your card, switch between monthly and annual, or cancel.

Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep the hours you've already been given for the rest of that month, and any top-up hours you bought stay yours until their 12 months are up.

Scenes you bought outright stay yours. Scenes you had through the subscription stop being playable when the subscription ends — that's the difference between owning one and having access to all of them.

Troubleshooting#

The price on the payment page isn't the price I saw#

Don't complete it. Tell us what you saw and where. Prices come from one place and reach both pages the same way, so a mismatch is a fault rather than a policy.

My hours went down and nobody was in the room#

That's expected — the room costs by the clock while it's open, not by who's in it. Press Stop CastTime when you're done. See CastTime.

I have a promo code#

There's a box for it on the plans page, before you check out. It's checked while you're still on our page, so a code that doesn't apply tells you here rather than failing on the payment page.

I subscribed but the Store still looks empty in BobbleHub#

That's the hub key, not the plan. See Linking BobbleHub to your account.
